The challenge:

Kuehne + Nagel wanted easy access to a monthly P&L report for all of its 27 offices across Canada who contribute data to the company main frame. Converting the data into a meaningful report that was accessible to all 27 offices required an AS/400 programmer to manually retrieve the data, dump it into a flat file, apply all the necessary calculations and convert it into an Excel spread sheet. Typically, one week was required to produce the report.

The solution:

Using Magic Software, DataMotive was able to automate the process in two weeks – making it possible to produce the financial report in less than 20 minutes.

The challenge:  

Solectron landed a large contract to repair all Microsoft Xbox consoles under warranty in Canada. As a condition of the contract, Solectron had to implement a detailed tracking system that would follow each Xbox console through the repair process. The tracking system had to identify: the owner, the required repair, the date the item was received at the plant, the start and completion date of the repair, the parts used and the date the Xbox was shipped back to the customer. And, Solectron needed to have the system in place quickly.

The solution:

DataMotive put a comprehensive tracking system in place in just six weeks. Solectron’s Memphis facility was amazed because they had received the same quote to develop a similar tracking system required to complete in twice as much time.

   
   

The Academy of Learning

The Academy of Learning specializes in computer and business skills training for adults; it operates 100+ franchised colleges worldwide and has partnerships with: Athabasca University, the University of Phoenix, the University of Windsor, the Pacific Institute and others.

The challenge:  

With thousands of students enrolled annually, the Academy of Learning’s head office needed a centralized registration system, which had to be accessible to its 100+ campuses on three continents. The system had to work seamlessly with the Academy’s existing IT infrastructure and incorporate thousands of active files that made up the students’ records. These included: student contact data, campus location, course history, marks, and the number of credits required for graduation. As well, the system had to be easy to update and secure.

The solution:

DataMotive was able to provide a solution that exceeded the Academy of Learning’s expectations – and do it in just three months.
